Hi - the nurse from H at H is coming tomorrow afternoon to start the Cimzia injections but I forgot to ask how long they need to be out of the fridge. Is it 30 mins like the Enbrel?

I'm feeling nervous after the allergy to Enbrel and really hoping I'm ok with this one. I notice a lot of us have been doing too much and suffering lately. We broke up for 2 weeks on Friday and on Saturday i drove to Brighton with the girls for 2 days. It was lovely but the driving was soo hard. I don't think I will attempt it again. Then my Mum was 85 yesterday so we had a party here as she didn't want to go out, so I spent a whole day preparing and most of today clearing up!

Today I'm stiff and sore but glad all the fuss is over and I can relax and sleeeep! Hoping for great things from the Cimzia - I will let you know how I get on xx Ailsa

all the best with cimzia- the cimzia comes out of the fridge 15 mins or so before the stab.

it didnt even hurt me when I had it and within 24/48 hrs it started to work on the RA.

Thankyou - injections were ok. Different to the Enbrel pen which was fast and a sharp pain for about 5 seconds. The Cimzia needle was virtully painless going in but the 'sting' built up over a couple of seconds. The nurse said it was because the contents are very thick. It was definitely less 'ouchy' than the Enbrel though!

I have had some odd joint pains since having the jabs, especially in my knees and arms. Hard to know if I would have had these anyway I suppose.

I got some clarification on the previous issues though. Neither the Enbrel pen or the Cimzia needle are long enough to get in a muscle (though I definitely don't have Lyn's sporty legs!). Also, if I get a reaction bigger than a 50p coin, I have to get it looked at - definitely no huge red swollen thighs! Will keep you posted ....Smile xx Ailsa
